HELP IF YOU NEED IT
The Link Foundation has no political agenda and no restrictive criteria about who we help. We try to help all children and families in disadvantaged circumstances, both locally and overseas, regardless of background, race or religion, when we know that our practical assistance will ‘make the difference’ to them.
75% of all TLF funding is reserved to help local families in East Berkshire, South Buckinghamshire and the surrounding areas; 25% currently is directed into carefully chosen international projects where we know what seems like a modest amount of cash can make huge differences in the lives of children, for example in Indian orphanages or HIV affected families in parts of Africa.
Working closely with a select group of charitable organisations overseas, we can ensure the 25% of TLF money allocated for international projects gets to where it is needed to help children and families.
If you represent, or know of, an international charity or cause that you feel would benefit from our help please contact us on 01628 860325/860310. If you or your family need help from TLF, please see the section ‘How to apply for help' below.
Many families in the UK struggle with today’s demands as it is, and circumstances such as disability in the family, or financial worries can make things even more difficult. TLF can donate funds to provide for material needs, but we are also keen to make sure children have an opportunity to enjoy simply being children.
We know from experience that fairly small amounts of money can make a big difference to a family in need, so many of our grants are for simple everyday items, and no request is too small. See who we help for examples of how TLF has already helped local families.
Our aim is to ensure that all the money we receive is put to good use to impact the lives of children directly. In the UK we work with a number of carefully chosen partners who are uniquely placed in the local community; they are regularly in touch with mothers and children, and can help TLF identify people who can really benefit from our help.
How to Apply for Help
If you think TLF might be able to help you and your children, you need to contact a partner first. This may be your local GP, Health Visitor, teacher or one of TLF’s strategic charity partners. They are best placed to discuss your own personal circumstances with you in confidence, and they may also be able to direct you to other sources of support. They will also be able to explain the application process and assist you in making your application.
We aim to assess all applications and respond within 4 weeks. We may be able to respond more quickly if urgent assistance is needed.
If you experience any difficulty reaching us through our Partners, please call us on 01628 860325/860310 email or write to us at the address on the Contact Us Page.
If you represent another charity (in the UK or abroad) that you think might benefit from TLF’s help please do call or email us directly on the numbers below.
