EVENTS FOR 2009/2010

14th June 2009

The Link Foundation Maidenhead Relay Marathon: Kidwells Park, Maidenhead

As part of the annual Maidenhead Carnival celebrations, the relay marathon involves local businesses, schools, clubs and pubs in a fun event, which raises money for many charities as well as keeping everyone that bit fitter! There are up to 10 people in a team with each participant running 2.6 miles; and to make it that more sociable, the race is run in pairs.
Last year saw 38 teams participating in the event and the feedback was fantastic with everyone thoroughly enjoying the summer’s afternoon and the team spirit. This year the organisers, Purple Patch, are hoping for many more teams to get involved. So, if you have friends or colleagues who would be keen to participate, get in contact and we can send you a registration form. It really is a great way to make a difference in the community and enjoy a team challenge.

12th September 2009

Indian Summer Ball: Crowne Plaza Hotel, Marlow

This is a new event in the Link Foundation fundraising calendar and it is billed as a fantastic black tie, society party, which will feature delicious food and wine with entertainment by a premier band.
Ladies, get out your slinky frocks and gentleman, brush off your dinner jackets as this party will be as glamorous as it gets!! Some amazing auction prizes have already been donated, so we can guarantee you the opportunity to grab some unusual and special lots.
Tickets are priced at £60, which includes a glass of champagne on arrival and wine with your meal. Tables can seat up to 10, so this would be a great chance for you to get your friends together for a fabulous night out as well as supporting disadvantaged children.

7th November 2009

Fireworks and Fun

The Annual “Fireworks and Fun” event will take place at Maidenhead United Football Club on the 7th of November and it promises to be another spectacular!! This is a real family event with something for the adults and kids including children’s rides, hot food, mulled wine and a fully licensed bar. Of course the most important feature is the amazing fireworks, which have left the crowds gasping on previous years.

As the venue has covered terraces, the fireworks event can go ahead whatever the weather, although we will all have our fingers crossed that the rain stays away and that we can raise as much money as possible for local families in need.
