Providing essentials such as bedding, food, school equipment and clothes

Our teacher, health visitor, social worker and other professional partner referees work with vulnerable children in their care. Working together we provide items that will make a difference to a child’s day to day life.

The children we help include those living with a disability, children who have suffered parental illness, loss or desertion, and children whose parents are struggling on a low income.

Clothes

Many of the children we support will have entered the care system in an emergency.  They may have fled their home with only the clothes that they are wearing. Working together with our referees we provide clothing and shoes to make them comfortable.

Beds

Every night in our area, there are hundreds of children sleeping on the floor, a sofa or a pile of clothes.

We provide beds for children to allow them a full night’s sleep. Our teacher partners tell us the difference this makes to their studies and education success is profound.

Furniture and Appliances

Over 50% of the families we support are leaving a homeless or domestic violence refuge. They are often moving in to a new home of their own that that has no furniture or appliances.  We supply tables, washing machines, fridges, ovens, sofas and more to help families settle in to their new place of safety.

International Support

Our commitment to helping children extends to support children in crisis internationally.Up to 10% of our funding is spent on supporting the most disadvantaged children internationally.

Shoes for children to be able to go to school, support for safe schools and support for orphanages are a small selection of the areas in which we have provided support to enable these children to have access to education and a pathway to a better life.

Looking to help us as an individual?

Can you climb a mountain, sail the Atlantic or swim the English Channel?  These are some of the amazing feats our individual fundraisers have done in recent years.

You don’t need to do something so extreme! Every bit as important are the individuals who introduce us to their company or school.

Tell people about the Link Foundation’s work and raise awareness of local kids needing a little helping hand.
